I know a lot of us are still scraping off mud from this weekend, but there’s already some exciting news.  After much calculation and heated debate, Cyclocross Magazine congratulates Tim Darwick for submitting “MABRA BCA and Kelley Acres – A Comedy of Errors,” which has been judged the winning entry in the first edition of Cyclocross Magazine’s Best Race Report Contest.

Congratulations Tim! Watch out for him at the next race, as he’ll be ultra-caffeinated with his choice of DeLaPaz coffee and ready to attack with his new set of Kenda Kommando cyclocross tires.

With the response from the first contest, and the epic conditions that have likely inspired some entertaining stories from this past weekend, Cyclocross Magazine announces the next edition of our search for the best race reports.  Race reports from the weekends of 10/17-10/18 and 10/24-1/25 should be submitted on the cowbell forums.

We’re stepping up this week and offering a brand new special edition Timbuk2 messenger bag (that we paid for ourselves!) to the best report.

Here are the rules: (Read them qualify for prizes and avoid public shaming)

Original content only.  Nothing that has published elsewhere will be allowed and posting links to your blog doesn’t count.  We want to see the text right there in the forums.  Posting a link on a blog or other site to your race report on CXM is encouraged.

Extra credit for photos or videos. Friends, enemies and strangers are welcome to comment in approval. That might influence us.

Contest will end October 28, 2009.

Race reports for this edition of the contest should be from races held from 10/14 – 10/28.

USA residents only, void where prohibited.  If the winner is in Belgium, or otherwise outside of the USA, she will be required to cover travel expenses so that CXM staff can hand deliver the prize.

Other than that, it doesn’t matter is you rode in the biblical East Coast slop, epic Silver Lake sand, NorCal’s heat or in your local Wednesday night training race, we just want to hear about it.
