Japan’s Rapha Super Cross in Japan drew racers from all over Japan and even a few overseas.

On Day 2, after a disappointing 31st place on Day 1, Zach McDonald focused less on taking the holeshot and instead remained patient. The Washington-based rider used a late surge to take home the victory, ahead of Hikaru Kosaka with Kohei Yamamoto taking his second third in two days.

Zach McDonald wasn’t the only American to line up for the day’s racing:

In the women’s race, Australian National Champion Lisa Jacobs took control again after a dominant Day 1 ride, winning both days of the high-altitude race in Japan. Yesterday’s silver medalist, Miho Imai, rode strongly to finish with 40 seconds of Jacobs, with Waka Takeda in third.
