With the World Cup racing in Tabor on Saturday, it was easy for those in the US to almost forget that the Superprestige Series also started this weekend in Ruddervoorde.
In the men’s race, Klaus Vantornout took the win, followed by fellow countryman Sven Nys. The podium was rounded out by Tom Meeusen, with season standout Lars van der Haar taking fourth place.
In the women’s race, it was nearly an entirely Great Britain podium, with Helen Wyman taking the win, despite tweeting earlier in the day, “Yesterday, I starred in a movie: Revenge of the Bad Legs. I really hope today isn’t the sequel.” Behind her, Nikki Harris came in for second place, and sprint determined third place, and Sanne Cant took the spot over England’s Gabby Durrin.
There were no Americans among the finishers, with Jonathan Page, Katie Compton, Meredith Miller, Katie Antonneau and Arley Kemmerer all competing in Tabor on Saturday.
