Belgian UCI pro cyclocross racing made its return this past weekend, and it was worth the wait.
While several Cyclocross Worlds medalists were off in Italy cleaning up with road and time trial world championships medals, most cyclocross stars were at the 2020 Ethias Cross (formerly Brico Cross) Rapencross de Lokeren in Belgium.
The long-awaited start of cyclocross racing delivered plenty of drama and mud, particularly in the women’s race.
The Elite Women flew over the barriers, with no fewer than three of the top ten bunnyhopping the planks and the patriarchy.
The race delivered multiple lead changes, and bunnyhopping arguably played a factor in the victory.
Have a watch of the racing and Anna Kay, Manon Bakker and Aniek van Alphen hopping the barriers below, thanks to Cycling Games.
