Wout van Aert recently gave an interview from his hospital room, talking about his crash, recovery and return to racing.
The interview, complete with English subtitles, details his surgery and long road to recovery.
While Van Aert is relieved he has no broken bones, he suffered a deep cut that extended into muscle tissue. The return to walking normally, let alone cycling, may take some time. See the full interview below.
