The 2014 Superprestige Elite Men’s cyclocross race at Spa-Francorchamps was a thriller, both in terms of terrain, action at the pits, and late race drama, and we’ve got video highlights of the racing action below.
The run-ups brought the world’s best racers to their knees, literally:
The world’s best cyclocrossers were forced to crawl up the run-ups.
Many racers also elected to run the downhills, disc brakes or not, out of fear of going over the bars or slamming into the fence below.
Many men chose to run the downhills, regardless of their brake choice.
And even the pits saw some drama, congestion, and likely some expensive damage:
The pits were chaotic and included some unplanned bike barriers.
