Between the 2015 Lost and Found Gravel Race and the weekend at Grand Junction, cyclocross racers came out in droves for end of May racing.
Take one part mountain bike, one part paved road criterium, add in some of the biggest names in cyclocross, and what do you get? The Grand Junction Off-Road Fat Tire Criterium
The rules of the race are simple: Riders must use the same make and model of the mountain bike that they will use in the following 40 Grand Endurance XC Race. The only modification that riders are allowed to make on their bike are the tires, although they must meet a minimum width of 38mm or 1.5”.
Katie Compton, Meredith Miller, Amanda Miller and Katerina Nash were only a few names of the Elite Women’s Field that took to Main Street of Grand Junction. In the video above, posted by Mark Legg-Compton on Vimeo, shows the final lap of the race from the viewpoint of Katie Compton’s seatpost.
Oh, and by the way, Compton added to her career victories with the win.
