Belgian Rob Peeters (Crelan – Vaastgoed Service) landed in China as the top UCI-ranked male to contest the UCI C1 Qiansen Trophy cyclocross races. After winning the UCI C1 Qiansen Trophy Cyclocross race at Yanqing Station, the teammate of World Champ Wout van Aert showed that he deserved the status of pre-race favorite.

Cyclocross Magazine‘s Ricoh Riott caught up with Peeters after his win in the hot, dry conditions of Yanqing Station. Peeters started with a water bottle and finished the entire contents during the race.
