What better way to start off the 2018 cyclocross calendar year than with a with a proper mudder at the Sven Nys Cycling Center in Baal? After last year’s icy conditions, a healthy amount of mud was likely a welcome relief for riders as they toed the line for the IJsboerke Ladies Trofee GP Sven Nys.
Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek/Knight Composites) stormed back from a rough start that included a textbook a** over tea kettle crash to take her first European win since Kermiscross in October. In the process, she outdueled young guns Annemarie Worst (ERA-Circus) and Maud Kaptheijns (Crelan-Charles).
Cycling.be video highlights are below. We will keep our eyes out for a full replay of Compton’s win.
