Racers at the 2016 SSCXWC had multiple ways to qualify for Sunday’s finals. If you preferred the two-wheel route, you could finish in the top seven of your one-lap heat, and then if that failed, eek in by winning one of three holeshot races, and if that didn’t work, win a dual slalom eliminator.
SSCXWC regular Lee Slone made the trip and kept trying his best to make the finals and give Adam Craig, Sven Nys and others a run for the Golden Speedo. Slone sent in this video of his attempts on Day 1 of the SSCXWC 2016. Spoiler: It didn’t start well! Watch in the video above.
