Tabor, Czech Republic- The last time the Cyclocross World Championship took place in Tabor, back in 2010, Zdeněk Štybar was able to capture a win in his homeland. With the Czech out from injuries, will Katerina Nash be able to take charge to represent the crowd?
We have an early course preview for those of you who can’t wait until they see the official course unveiled. We emphasize the phrase “early” because this is a course ride taken by a GoPro before the 2012 World Cup in Tabor, so inevitably there will be some minor changes involved. The bigger change from the footage, of course, will be the weather. Riders shouldn’t get their hopes up for blue skies and green grass. The veteran racers will likely realize that they are heading into a weekend of ice and snow.
The open space and iconic chicanes will persist, however, although the weather will heavily dictate how this course will play out. Will one of the young guns, Wout van Aert or Mathieu van der Poel, win over the older riders as they prepare to tackle the Elite World Championships for the first time? Stay tuned for more of our World Championship Previews early this week.
