Larry Miller took to the 2016 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championship course yesterday, and gave viewers a fine preview of Asheville’s Biltmore Estate cyclocross course awaiting racers this week. Despite some early complaints based on an old Biltmore race video that the course was flat and completely non-technical, the course built for this week’s championships looks to be hilly, challenging, and offers up a little bit of everything.
There are flyovers, a barn fly-under, plenty of off-cambers, some zig-zag climbing and descending, and lots of wide-open grass for passing. There might be one or two paved corners that might get slippery, but that will only add to the challenge.
Have a look at Miller’s video below:
It’s clear Miller is a fan, Tweeting this after his ride:
@AshevilleCX16 Course preview I made today. THE COURSE IS AWESOME! THANKYOU @NorthCarolinaCX https://t.co/sJvb1BmPEG #cxnats #AshevilleCX16

Others were in agreement:
Some even took it another level:
Nats course evaluation: best nats course I've ever ridden. Maybe best US course ever, period. Worth whatever line you have to wait in.

While it made others a bit more tentative:
Probably going to run half the course cross-country style tomorrow it's so technical. Run faster than I ride. ? #cxnats: the ultimate brick.
