We’re still catching up after a surprisingly busy weekend of cyclocross on three continents. Just a day after victory for both Sanne Cant and Mathieu Van Der Poel in the Superprestige Noordzeecross Middelkerke, they both repeated in the Vestingcross in Hulst, Netherlands.
For the Elite Women’s C2 race, Sanne Cant (BEL) narrowly beat Katie Compton (USA) by two seconds with Laura Verdonschot (BEL) finishing another 22 seconds back. Ellen Van Loy (BEL) and Annemarie Worst (NED) finished in fourth and fifth. Fellow Americans Elle Anderson crossed the line in 11th, Julie Wright was 19th and Christine Vardaros was 23rd.

In the Elite Men’s C2 race, Mathieu Van Der Poel (NED) took a commanding win over Lars Van Der Haar (NED) in second and Wout Van Aert (BEL) in third. Belgian Tom Meeusen, rumored to be possibly switching teams, and countryman Michael Vanthourenhout finished in fourth and fifth.
