Winner of Nacht van Woerden, Bart Aernouts. Bart Hazen
In the Elite Men’s race, Bart Aernouts (Rabobank) rode to victory at Kiremko’s Nacht van Woerden in The Netherlands tonight. He was followed by CrossVegas winner Lars van der Haar.
From the start, Lars van der Haar attacked and got company of Bart Aernouts and Dieter Vanthourenhout. Behind Jonathan Page, Gerben de Knegt, Marcel Meisen, Steve Chainel and Rob Peeters were battling for the fourth place. Van der Haar attacked several times but just over halfway through the race, Aernouts broke clear. Aernouts’ gap grew steadily and he soloed to his first win of the season. U23 World Champion Lars van der Haar sprinted to second with Vanthourenhout in third. Jonathan Page had a solid ride in eight place.
In the U23 division, Dutch racer Mathieu van der Poel was the winner.
