With a gap of almost three minutes between himself and the second-place winner, Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix), it’s safe to say that Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma) dominated World Cup Dendermonde.
In a post-race interview, Van Aert stated that his strategy was to just keep up his pace. Everything paid off when he beat his rival, Van der Poel, by a large margin.

Third place went to Toon Aerts (Telenet Baloise Lions).
The event also saw the arrival of several Americans. Curtis White is a returning member and placed 13th. Jonothan Anderson came in 53rd, Jules van Kempen came in 58th and Andrew Giniat came in 59th. Canadian Michael van den Ham came in 17th.
