With zero North American UCI Cyclocross World Cups this year, cyclocross fans were wondering what was going to happen to the Trek CX Cup weekend.
Thankfully, it’s not going away but instead becomes the final race weekend of the four-weekend US CX series. See the official announcement below.
USCX has added the TREK CX CUP as the series final race weekend on October 4th – 6th at the Trek headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin, which creates 4 consecutive races for the 2024 series.
Trek Bicycle has also acquired the title sponsorship for the USCX cyclocross series, now named the TREK USCX.
With the series going into its fourth year in 2024, Series Director, Scott Page said, “I am amped that Waterloo will be our last stop on the series as our final race, and very appreciative that the Trek brand is attaching its name to USCX.”
2024 will be the first year that the series has all the events on four straight weekends and series organizers believe this will be more attractive for racers at all levels. All the events will feature amateur racing, elite racing and will be conducted under the UCI C1 Saturday and UCI C2 Sunday format. GoCross in Roanoke, Virginia will start the series on the weekend of September 14 and 15 followed by Rochester Cyclocross in Rochester, New York on September 21 and 22. The next weekend brings the series to Charm City in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28 and 29 with the final event taking place at the TREK CX CUP at Trek Headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin on October 5 and 6. The consecutive 8 race-day format will entice more European athletes to attend the series.
The 2024 Trek CX Cup, “Battle among the Cattle” is way more than a cyclocross race; it’s a full weekend of fun! While there is no World Cup in the 2024 event line-up, there is plenty of cyclocross racing and fun to be had. The year’s best cyclocross event kicks off with amateur races on Friday, USCX races on Saturday and Sunday, “Legends Races” where costumes are the norm and fun is the only objective, kid’s events featuring a mini-CX course, and more.
