Cyclocross-enthusiasts rejoice! Starting this Monday, the 16th, and running through Friday, May 20th, you can help three-time cyclocross National Champion Todd Wells win $50,000 for protecting open land for bikes and bike trails with the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bikers (SDMB) organization.
Wells is competing in the GOOD.is competition called “Reinventing the Outdoors,” which “showcases amazing organizations like this one that are redefining the way we live, work, and play outside.” The champion cyclocrosser and mountain biker considers Tuscon his second home, since he spends his winters training there, and aims to help protect his beloved winter training grounds.

Among the contestants, there’s a wide range and some stiff competition for Wells: from professional surfer Laird Hamilton protecting oceans to actor Ed Norton working with the Maasai on land conservation and comedian Will Farrell helping kids with cancer, they’ll be battling it out to see who will win the grand prize of $50,000 for his cause. The contest is based on viewer votes, so if you want to see more protected land for bike trails, vote for Wells! (Voting starts Monday!)
