Continuing with the unveiling of our 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards, today we look at the ignored hero of a long-distance race weekend: The Readers’ Favorite Car Rack.
After spending 40-60 minutes in the mud, sometimes the last thing a rider wants to do is fill their car with dirty wheels and frames, much less clean the interior out after they get home. For keeping the bikes on a roof or behind the car, our readers overwhelmingly opted for the Thule brand.
Although the company began in 1942 (selling fishing supplies in Sweden), they began moving toward the direction of car accessories over a decade later, and in 1962, they began manufacturing their first racks, designed for winter sports. As for bikes? They have been aiding us in bringing our cyclocross bikes to courses for nearly a quarter-century.
