Amy Dombroski was a world-renowned talent on the bike, a tremendous all-around athlete, a warm and kind-hearted soul, and a generous friend. And none of those words even come close to doing her memory justice. She was taken from us on Thursday, the 3rd of October in Belgium in a tragic training accident. We at ROL Wheels are heartbroken to hear the devastating news about Amy Dombroski. I first met Amy in 2007, shortly after starting ROL Wheels in my garage. She was fresh off of one of her U23 CX National Championships and Chris Grealish (Boulder Cup & CX Promoter Extraordinaire) called me to explore how we might assist Amy with wheel sponsorship. So, we talked about how ROL might help her the following season. And, as luck would have it, one of the big bike companies recognized her talent, grace and enthusiasm and took care of her.
It was an honor just to have known her. Amy’s attitude, poise and infectious smile will forever be missed. We are humbled to announce that we will donate 5% of our October sales proceeds to the Amy Dombroski Memorial Fund.
