For the first time in several years, domestic cyclocross racers will get some ’cross with their turkey at this weekend’s Ruts n’ Guts in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The event features 2 days of UCI C2 racing at the Broken Arrow Events Complex, located just outside of Tulsa. The race represents the penultimate weekend of racing for U.S. riders before Lakewood Nationals and a chance to get ready for Europe for several Canadians.
Helping head up the Elite Women’s start list is the newest SSCXWC champ Sunny Gilbert (Pactimo / Colorado Proud). She is joined by teammate Caroline Mani (Pactimo / Colorado Proud) at the venue located a nice 10-hour trailer drive from their Colorado homes.
Raylyn Nuss (MAAP / MINI U.S. Cyclocross Program) enters on a four-race silver medal streak, Jenn Jackson (Easton / Giant p/b Transitions LifeCare) is extending her cyclocross season, and Crystal Anthony (Liv Cycling) and Ellen Noble (Trek Factory Racing CX) join as other riders to watch.
On the Elite Men’s side, Maxx Chance (Blue – Stages Cycling) looks to keep the SSCXWC magic going as well. Lancy Pants Haidet (Donnelly / Aevolo), Dizzle Drew Dillman (SDG / Muscle Monster), The Kid Cody Kaiser (LangeTwins / Specialized) and Michael MvdH van den Ham (Easton / Giant p/b Transitions LifeCare) make up the nicknamed part of the riders to watch. They are joined by Eric Brunner (Blue – Stages Cycling) and Grant Ellwood (Pivot/Maxxis p/b Stan’s NoTubes).
