The 2019 Vittoria Northeast Cyclocross Series continues this weekend with two days of UCI C2 racing at the 2019 Rockland County Supercross Cup in New York.
Last year’s Supercross Cup, held at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, proved to be an interesting one, with a blanket of snow turning the course into a thick, muddy mess. Ruby West (Pivot / Maxxis p/b Stan’s NoTubes) and Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano) split wins in the Elite Women’s races, and Curtis White (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld) ran away with the Elite Men’s wins.

Fahringer and West are back again this year. Fahringer is coming off her first Elite championship podium at Pan-Ams, and West is the new U23 Women’s Pan-Ams champ. Joining them is another West Coaster on the East Coast interloper Courtenay McFadden (Pivot / Maxxis p/b Stan’s NoTubes).

Arley Kemmerer (Bike Law Network p/b Piscitello Law) returns as the de facto Women’s Vittoria Series leader since last weekend’s double winner Caroline Nolan (Voler / Easton / HRS / Rock Lobster) is not heading east for the weekend.
As for the Elite Men’s race, there is freshly minted Pan-Ams champ Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano) and there is Curtis White (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld). Need we say more at this point in the season?

Joining them looking for Pan-Ams redemption is Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld). Hyde won the Silver Goose CX C2 on Saturday but then had a myriad of issues that led to him taking a DNF on Sunday at Pan-Ams. With his Nationals title defense one month from today, you can bet he will be hungry for the win.
Nick Lando (Competitive Edge Racing) and Travis Livermon return as the top two riders in the Vittoria Series who are racing this weekend. Series leader Tobin Ortenblad (Santa Cruz / Donkey Label Racing) is staying home out west.
