After a few double UCI racing weekends, the 2019 North Carolina Grand Prix (NCGP) in Hendersonville is the only show in town this weekend.
Held at Jackson Park, conditions are expected to be muddy, with the current forecast calling for a 100% chance of rain on Saturday. And you know what, that is a substantial improvement over conditions the last few years.
In 2017, a snowstorm turned the course into a muddy, snowy mess. Last year, a blizzard canceled the second day of racing.

In the Elite Women’s race, Verge Northampton International double winner Caroline Nolan (Voler / Easton / HRS / Rock Lobster) returns east to continue her strong season of racing. Raylyn Nuss (MAAP / MINI U.S. Cyclocross Program), Sammi Runnels (Squid x Eliel) and Carla Williams (Deschutes Brewery) join as some other riders to watch.
Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano) looks to bounce back at his home-state race after the Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld squad kept him off the podium both days at the Supercross Cup. Werner is joined by Carolina friends Travis Livermon and Eric Thompson (MSpeedwax.com) as well as Merwin Davis (Cycle-Smart).
Racing in Hendersonville takes place both Saturday and Sunday.
