The penultimate round of the 2018/19 Telenet UCI Cyclocross World Cup takes place on Sunday in Pont-Château, which is located in northwest France near Nantes.
A World Cup race was last held in Pont-Château in 2011, where Marianne V0s (CCC – Liv) and Kevin Pauwels (Marlux – Bingoal) took home wins. Both will be racing again on Sunday in 2019 eight years later.
Read on for a look at the start lists and overall World Cup series standings through seven races.
Elite Women
Vos is the current World Cup overall leader. She heads to France looking for her fourth World Cup win of the season. Absent from the start list are Belgian champ Sanne Cant (IKO – Beobank) and Lucinda Brand (Team Sunweb), who took home her second-straight National Championship on Sunday against Vos and the rest of the star-studded Dutch field.
With Cant’s absence, if Vos finishes fourth or better, she locks up the World Cup overall before the finale at Hoogerheide.
North American Elite Women starters include Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek Knight), Kaitie Keough (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Maghalie Rochette (CX Fever p/b Specialized), Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano), Clara Honsinger (Team S&M CX), Courtenay McFadden (Pivot Cycles/Maxxis p/b Stan’s/DNA Cycling), Katie Clouse (Alpha Bicycle – Groove Subaru Silverthorne), Corey Coogan Cisek (Amy D. Foundation) and Rebecca Gross (Zero D Racing).

Elite Men
Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon – Circus) trails Toon Aerts (Telenet Fidea Lions) by 75 points in the World Cup overall entering Pont-Château, but his longshot shot at the overall series win will come to an end thanks to his absence from the World Cup start list.
Aerts and Wout van Aert (Cibel – Cebon Offroad Team) head up the rest of the start list, with Van Aert looking for a little revenge after Aerts’ win at Belgian Nationals on Sunday. Aerts currently leads the World Cup overall by 7 points over Van Aert.
The North American contingent includes Curtis White (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Tyler Cloutier (TCCX), Max Judelson (Voler/Clif/HRS/Rock Lobster), Josh Bauer (Donkey Label) and Andrew Juliano (Grit World Racing p/b Voler).
