This weekend marks the first split weekend of domestic UCI cyclocross racing. The East Coast race is Saturday and Sunday’s Charm City Cross at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore.
The races mark the first 2 stops of the Union Craft Brewery Parkway CX Trophy mini-series that also includes next weekend’s DCCX. The four-race series is a time-based omnium, with bonuses awarded for podium finishes. Categories include the UCI Elites as well as several amateur races.
Last year’s Elite Women’s Parkway CX winner Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano) is back to defend her title starting with Charm City this weekend.
Men’s 2018 Parkway CX Trophy winner Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano) also returns, and he will be joined by Curtis White (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld) and Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld) in a fight for the leader’s jersey and series payouts.
