World Cup racing resumes this Sunday at the famed Citadel of Namur. After the last round of World Cups was largely devoid of U.S. and Canadian riders, an impressive contingent of 16 Americans and 13 Canadians will be toeing the line at the hilly and technical race in Namur.

Marianne Vos (WaowDeals Pro Cycling) returns as the World Cup leader at a time she would normally just be starting her cyclocross season. Last year’s winner Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing CX) is also back as the current U23 leader (and fifth overall).

Two riders who will not be starting are Ellen Van Loy (Telenet Fidea Lions) and Kim Van De Steene (Tarteletto – Isorex). Van Loy is still recovering from an injury suffered at Druivencross earlier this month.

Starting for the North American women are Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek Knight), Ellen Noble (Trek Factory Racing CX), Kaitie Keough (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Elle Anderson (Milwaukee – Alpha Motorhomes), Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano), Jen Malik (Redkite Racing), Emily Werner (Amy D. Foundation), Corey Coogan Cisek (Amy D. Foundation), Maghalie Rochette (CX Fever p/b Specialized), Ruby West (Specialized – TenSpeed Hero), Magdeleine Valleries Mill (Quebecor/Stingray), Dana Gilligan (Next Wave), Jenn Jackson (AWI Racing p/b the Crank and Sprocket) and Sidney McGill (Focus CX Canada).

Last year’s race at Namur was one of the few Wout van Aert (Cibel – Cebon Offroad Team) won during the 2017/18 season. He will be seeking to again stop Mathieu van der Poel’s (Corendon – Circus) dominance in 2018.

With both the U.S. and Canadian Nationals in the books, the Elite Men’s start list features a number of North Americans for this round of races. Curtis White (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano), Cody Kaiser (LangeTwins / Specialized), Tyler Cloutier (Garneau – Easton p/b Transitions LifeCare), Max Judelson (Voler/Clif/HRS/Rock Lobster), Michael van den Ham (Garneau – Easton p/b Transitions LifeCare) and Cameron Jette are on the start list.

For the other races, Gage Hecht (Alpha Bicycle – Groove Subaru), Gunnar Holmgren (Hardwood Next Wave Cycling Team), Nicholas Diniz (NCCH Elite p/b MGCC) and Tyler Orschel (Brevard College) will be racing the U23 Men’s race, and Alex Morton (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Ryan Maclean (Juventus CC) and Paul Mysko (Centurion Next Wave).

World Cup Namur takes place on Sunday. Elite Women start at 7:30 a.m. EST and the Elite Men at 9:00 a.m. EST.
