Sidi has long been a popular name in mountain bike cycling shoes among our readers. The brand has won plenty of past reader's choice awards with Cyclocross Magazine, including in 2014 around the unveiling of their latest line at Sea Otter and then again this April for 2015.
Although Sidi certainly has an aura of a classic old Italian cycling shoe company, the folks present at Interbike 2015 showed of a line of shoe models that was rather forward thinking, not only in terms of cycling disciplines, but in cycling experiences as well.
Take the Sidi Epic, for example. Released last year, the Epic can be used both for the epic biking trips as well as the workingman who might need to walk around for a few hours in bike shoes after a commute to work. It is the kind of shoe that could help a rider finish a cyclocross race and then allow them to sit next to a BBQ while cheering on the next race.
For 2015, Sidi extended the model to the SD15, which is complimented by a similar aggressive tread that can handle camping and cycling duties, but is retained by Sidi's Tecno-3 enclosure system for riders who prefer a wire system over a buckle.
In even bigger news for half of cyclist population is the extension of the shoe models to include a massive women's line from only the Dominator 5 and Eagle 5 models of last year. The crown jewel is the inclusion of the Drako Woman, which as the name suggests is the equivalent of the $499 Drako with a heel retention device and two Tecno-3 Push wire retention units.
