NEW YORK, NY April 2, 2009 – The kind folks at Cyclocross Magazine (https://cxmagazine.com) and Schwinn (http://www.schwinnbike.com/) have come together to generously support the Ronde van Vlaanderen Viewing Party to benefit our CRCA Junior Development Program with the donation of a race-ready $1299 Schwinn Fastback CX cyclocross bike!
Cyclocross Magazine is dedicated to helping grow the sport of cyclocross. As part of that mission, they want to help youth that otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience the joy and thrill of the sport. Schwinn has long been on a mission to get more people of all ages and incomes on bikes, and offers a wide variety of bikes for cyclists of all abilities, from top racers to children. With similar missions to CRCA’s junior development program, the two organizations have teamed up to donate the 2009 Fastback CX that was reviewed in Cyclocross Magazine to help our youth try cyclocross. Starting this season, the bike will be available for racing and training for one of CRCA’s lucky youth. Look for the unmistakable mint-green bike and lucky rider to show up at your local ‘cross race and ring your cowbell.

About the Party:
On Sunday, April 5th at 5PM, come out to support the CRCA Junior Development Program and enjoy the company of fellow members of the NYC cycling community as we watch the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) at BXL Café on west 43rd (b/t 6th and Broadway).
The event will run until 7PM, and offers for the night will include drink specials, courtesy of BXL and other event sponsors, a steady steam of prize raffles, as well as pre-recorded coverage of the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 throughout the event and all money raised will go directly to the CRCA Junior Development Program. Wafels and Dinges will be parked outside of BXL Café, offering a “Special Ronde Edition” waffle for guests to enjoy.
