Sanne Cant (IKO Enertherm-Beobank) proved once again to be the dominant rider in the sands of Zonhoven, defending her 2015 win in the sand dunes.

Jolien Verschueren of the Telenet Fidea Lions finished second, 21 seconds behind, while Brit Nikki Brammeier overcame a massive crash coming down the sand dunes to finish third, 38 seconds back.
Americans Kaitie Antonneau (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), Becca Fahringer (Amy D Foundation) and Elle Anderson made the trip and had impressive rides, with Antonneau finishing in 4th, Fahringer in 11th and Anderson in 15th.
