Heading into Sunday’s World Cup Waterloo, Sanne Cant had not yet been able to replicate her European success at the U.S. World Cups. She had a third at the 2015 CrossVegas and 2017 Jingle Cross to her name, but no wins.
On Sunday in Waterloo, Wisconsin, that changed when Cant rode away from the field after mastering the steep Trek Factory Hill during the third lap of the World Cup race. Cant was rewarded with a victory and the overall World Cup lead heading back to cooler European confines.
You can read how she won the race in our report from Waterloo.
Cyclocross Magazine‘s Dave Mable spoke with Cant after her race to hear what she had to say about her impressive afternoon.
