The 2018 DCCX weekend kicked off in the nation’s capital on Saturday. The race also served as the third of four in the Parkway CX Trophy mini-series that started at Charm City Cross.
The Elite Women’s race was a close one, with Sunny Gilbert (Van Dessel) eking out a victory over Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano).

Fahringer entered the weekend with a 37-second lead on Gilbert in the Parkway CX Trophy time omnium, so she enters Sunday’s race needing to finish within 35 seconds of Gilbert to take home the $1,000 bonus.
Caroline Nolan (Voler/Easton/HRS/Rock Lobster) took third.
The Elite Men’s race went to Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano). Werner has won two of the three races in the Parkway CX Trophy, and with a max time gap of 5 minutes per race, he has the series title wrapped up heading into Sunday.
Travis Livermon (The Endurance Collective) finished second and Eric Thompson (MSpeedwax.com) third.
