Registration is now open for the re-located Whitmore’s Super Cross Cup, the season-ending weekend doubleheader of racing for the Champion System MAC Series on November 20th and 21st.
All of the Champion System MAC classes will be competing at the two races, both of which will now be held at the Fireman’s 9/11 Memorial at the beautiful Eisenhower park in Nassau County, New York. While still maintaining its identity as Long Island’s premier race, the new location near Hofstra University is almost 90 minutes closer to New York City than last year’s venue on the far eastern tip of Long Island and, by extension, significantly closer to the home of nearly every cyclocross racer on earth.
As part of the change, promoter Myles Romanow has partnered with New York City’s famed Kissena Cycling Club to organize the races. Romanow pulls no punches with his opinion of the race’s new home, “Bitchin’ new course. Totally bitchin,” he said by email. “It’s a great venue, likely the best ever. I’m super excited for it. There are a lot of hotels nearby and we are going to announce special hotel and restaurant deals and affiliations for the race by the end of the week.”
