A little under two years ago, Alex Shepherd was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer. He was only 11, and enjoyed bicycle racing and soccer. Yesterday, Cycle Analysis/Team Alex hosted a cyclocross bicycle race at the Brewhaus Pub in Jacksonville, Oregon. They called it the “Race for Alex,” created as a dedication to Alex’s fight against cancer.

The race was captured in the footage below by Dronescape Media. The course included darting through what appears to be trellises of beer hops, and the designers even spelled out Alex’s name in the middle of a flat field, using angled single barriers for the challenging x at the end.
