The Raleigh RX 1.0 upgrades to SRAM Rival for 2010.
Interbike isn’t quite here yet (be sure to visit cxmagazine.com during the big show) but 2010 cyclocross models have been popping up as the season begins. The folks are Raleigh have been working hard redefining their cyclocross offerings, and we’ve got some early details.
Their stock bike, the RX 1.0 has not only received a new paint job but has gone through a major revamp, gaining an extra gear in the back and shedding some weight with the move to SRAM Rival components for 2010. The bike gives some of the weight savings back with the move to the Easton EC70x fork (over last year’s all-carbon Easton EC90x model). BB30 continues to be featured, and Tektro CR720 brakes as well as Vittoria XG tires highlight the new 2010 component offerings.
The bike has gone through a complete overhaul as the only thing that remains the same from 2009 is the aluminum frame, and that has been given a refresh through a dramatically different gray and green paint scheme. Final price has not been announced, but should be around $1400 MSRP.
Raleigh hasn’t only been working on its RX 1.0 and beer can singlespeed-themed frames. Product Manager Brian Fornes in singlespeed crazy and has been designing a few one-off frames to celebrate the upcoming SSCXWC race in November. We grabbed a spy photo below, but couldn’t wrestle any more details about this project. Will these frames be available to the public or be only for the lucky winners? Stay tuned.
