Cyclocross Magazine’s on-the-ground team at the 2017 Cyclocross World Championships, between races and reporting, chased after the American Junior men (Denzel Stephenson, Lane Maher, Calder Wood, Ross Ellwood, Caleb Swartz, Sam Noel) and also caught up with a rising Belgian star Timo Kielich to hear about their races and what happened outside the TV camera’s view.
The Junior Men’s World Championship race was a clean sweep by the British team led by a dominant Thomas Pidcock, but the Americans had a great showing despite first-lap chaos and were led by Denzel Stephenson with an impressive top-ten finish.
