While Elites in the U.S. were trudging through the Louisville mud, European riders were at the iconic Superprestige Zonhoven.
The famed De Kuil sandpit had some snow this year since the event moved from its traditional October date to the middle of December this year.
In the races, Sanne Cant (IKO – Beobank) outlasted Denise Betsema (Marlux – Bingoal) to score some revenge after Betsema’s big win at World Cup Koksijde. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Corendon – Circus) had a big afternoon, finishing third.
Corey Coogan Cisek (Amy D. Foundation) finished 24th.
Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon – Circus) was dominant again the Men’s race. Wout van Aert (Cibel – Cebon Offroad Team) took second and Toon Aerts (Telenet Fidea Lions) third.
