At the 2021 UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Ostend, Belgium, the five North Americans took the start.

All but American Clara Honsinger came into this year's Worlds with past top-20 results. Compton has won four several silver medals at Worlds and was just off the podium in 2020, while Canadian Rochette finished 5th in 2017 in Bieles, Keough finished 7th in her last Worlds in 2019 in Bogense, and Fahringer finished in 13th just a year ago in Dübendorf.

Only Honsinger had yet to finish an Elite Women's race, after not finishing in 2020 after a first-lap mechanical.

At this year's Worlds, the North Americans continued their streak of impressive performances, led by current National Champ Honsinger, in fourth.
