As the top event on the domestic cyclocross calendar, U.S. Cyclocross Nationals pack a lot of emotion into one 60-minute race. Twelve months of training and sacrifice go into one short event. Needless to say, the anticipation at the start line can be tense and the emotions at the finish can go much deeper than just one race.

Photographer Dave Mable (Instagram: @dmable122) turned his camera on the country's best at the start line and again at the finish to capture some of the emotions on display before and after Sunday's races.

Stay tuned for more galleries from Mable. See all of our coverage from the 2018 Reno Cyclocross Nationals on our dedicated page.
