The 2019 Telenet Superprestige series kicked off on Sunday in the Netherlands at Superprestige Gieten.

Set alongside a small lake, the early-season race offers a chance for riders to go to the beach, and wet conditions brought some of the mud we would expect to see later in the European fall and winter.

Among those riders racing in the Elite Women's race were Kaitie Keough (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld), who started her Euro campaign this past weekend and recently crowned road World Champion Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton - Scott).

The star of the race, and the Euro season thus far, was Ceylin Alvarado (Corendon - Circus), who won after attacking and going solo in the second lap.

In the Men's race, Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal) continued his hot start to the season, dispatching Toon Aerts (Telenet Baloise Lions) when he suffered a mechanical and then dropping Quinten Hermans (Telenet Baloise Lions) in the last lap to take home his fourth win of the season.
