In what was described as an apically muddy race, Nikki Harris took the win today at Hoogstraten nearly a minute ahead of Sanne Cant, who yesterday beat Marianne Vos at Krawatencross. Behind them, Jolien Verschueren took third ahead of Ellen Van Loy.
In the men’s race, Sven Nys took his second win of the weekend, half a minute ahead of Klaas Vantornout, with Niels Albert rounding out the podium. Jonathan Page was top American in 13th, while Jeremy Powers also represented the US, finishing in 26th. “Hoogstraten SuperPrestige – Not afraid to say it’s the 1st time I’ve done a 200 meter sand pit/ran that much/raced in that much MUD,” Powers tweeted after the race.
