Hailing from Seattle, Washington it's safe to say that Tricia Fleischer (Ten Speed Hero) knows a thing or two about riding in wet and challenging conditions. And that's a good thing because that is just what riders encountered at the Cyclocross National Championships in Asheville, North Carolina in the Master Women's 35-39 race.

Describing the course to Cyclocross Magazine after the event she said, “The course was awesome. It was painful. The climbs were brutal, but the descents were so sick. That made all the effort you put in the climbs totally worth it.” In addition to the challenging conditions Fleischer also had to deal with a corner slide out, a dropped chain and receiving a B bike with a flat tire from the pit. These setbacks dropped her down the leaderboard and required a massive effort to get back in contention.

Today we take a look at her unique bike. On the surface it looks like a typical Trek Boone, not unlike Katie Compton's bike, which we featured yesterday, but look closely and you’ll notice there are a number of unique equipment choices including an XTR Di2 rear derailleur and no less than two power meters.

The Trek Boone Disc 9 frameset is the company's flagship model constructed of their 600 series carbon. While the 2015 model sports a 15 mm thru axle up front, the 2015 model was a traditional quick release set-up both front and rear. Aside from the frameset, Trek's proprietary seatmast and Bontager's Evoke saddle the rest of Fleischer's build is a mix of components from numerous manufacturers.

Fleischer's SRAM Force 1 crankset is equipped with no fewer than two power meters, a Quarq CinQo Saturn power meter on the drivetrain side and a Stages power meter on the left arm of SRAM crank. For rings, she runs a Wolf Tooth Drop-Stop 38t chainring with the her inner ring still mounted despite the lack of a front derailleur.

For the rest of the drivetrain, Fleischer runs Shimano Di2 R785 levers, paired with a clutch-based XTR Di2 rear derailleur. Stopping power is provided by Shimano RS785 hydraulic brakes with Shimano's XT SM-RT86 160mm six bolt rotors. And she rolls on Enve Twenty9 XC Carbon rims laced to Chris King hubs and wrapped in Clement PDX rubber.

Fleischer runs her bars rotated up with the Shimano hoods set high. Her other contact points are Shimano's M9000 XTR pedals and a Bontrager Evoke saddle.

It’s obvious from the pictures that this was a tough course, because the bike appears to be wearing a lot of it.  But the photos also show a bike that was built up for the challenges presented by difficult race conditions. In the end, Fleischer's perseverance paid off, as she was able to pilot her Boone to an impressive second place finish in the women's Masters 35-39 at the 2016 National Championships in Asheville.
