This year, the North American Handmade Bike Show (NAHBS) headed to a city familiar to cyclocross fans. The 2018 edition was held in Hartford, CT over the weekend, and the craftmanship and creativity on display was impressive as always.
Bikes of all kinds were on display in Hartford, from tandems to cruisers to vintage-style rides. Mike Taylor of TEXmarket snapped some shots of many of the cyclocross, gravel and all-road bikes at the 2018 NAHBS, and during the next few days, we are going to provide galleries of some of the eye-candy from this year’s show.
The show presents awards in several categories to reward the best machines of the year. The Best City/Utility Bike went to a company that is on the rise. Last year, SaltAir Cycles, owned by former architect Matthew Nelson, won the Best New Builder Award at the 2017 NAHBS in the company’s hometown of Salt Lake City. This year, SaltAir took home the prize for its belt-drive commuter.
Our first gallery looks at some of the all-road and utility bikes on display at the 2018 NAHBS. Stay tuned for a look at some of the eye-catching gravel and cyclocross bikes on display in Hartford.
