The Bpost Bank Trophy #6 race at Loenhout in Belgium (“Azencross”) might have been the muddiest race of the season, and often at such races, the seasoned veteran racers with the technical skill and power from years of racing rise to the top.
At the 2014 event, two U23 racers in Wout Van Aert (Vastgoedservice-Golden Palace) and Matheiu van der Poel (BKCP-Powerplus), continuing their anti-sandbagging campaign of racing with the Elite Men, turned the tables and showed the veterans a thing or two about riding such a heavy course.
