KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE — While New Englanders celebrated the goofier side of cyclocross in the knock-down-drag-out escapade that is Ice Weasels, the East Coast was not without a UCI race for the weekend. The Kingsport Cyclocross Cup in Tennessee hosted their UCI race, and while the fields weren’t deep (only seven women raced the Elite Women’s race), the men’s race had some of the big names from the season, and Southerner Travis Livermon (Smartstop p/b Mock Orange) took top honors, followed by Dylan McNicholas (CyclocrossWorld) and Adam Myerson (Smartstop p/b Mock Orange), two New England riders who made the trip down for the race this weekend. Marne Smiley took the win in the women’s field.
