Lastig ColdWet Cyclocross Clothing
Last season, we highlighted Michael Garrigan’s Lastig cyclocross clothing launch, and now thanks to Mother Nature’s much-delayed cooperation, we’ve had a chance to try out the garments designed specifically for our favorite discipline.
The LASTIG Jacket features water and mud protection on the pockets, a generous mud flap, and a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating.
The $175 ($224 CAN) ColdWet ZipTights and $227 ($290 CAN) ColdWet Warm-Up Jacket aim to keep cyclists warm and dry, even if the pandemic has left many of us diehard racers out in the cold, without events.
The ZipTights’ splash-proof panel covering the rear and shins is perfect for wet rides, while the full zips provide for pro-style removal just before the battle for the holeshot, or race to the shower.
The Lastig ColdWet Zip-Off Tights will have you ready for racing, whenever that happens.
The Jacket boasts a luxurious, fleece-lined inner, a two-way zipper with a neck shield, arm pulls, three rear pockets with reflective piping, and a handy chest pocket that fits most phones.
Mike Garrigan’s LASTIG brand offers up a cyclocross-specific jacket that features low-bulk sleeves for bike shouldering, forearm pull tabs, a taller collar and DWR coating.
The torso of the jacket is warm and generously long. We especially like the long tail for proper coverage in an aggressive riding position. On really chilly windy days, you’ll feel the wind on your arms, especially if you’re a former New Englander who has gotten soft in Norcal, but thankfully the sleeves are slim for snag-free bike shouldering.
The LASTIG Jacket features water and mud protection on the pockets, a generous mud flap, and a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating.
The Lastig clothing has quickly become our go-to faves, despite the lack of racing. Perhaps the garments can be the perfect last-minute gift of cyclocross and keep the lucky recipient looking forward to future seasons.
Note: Initial sizing was quite odd, check with Lastig before ordering. We were sent a size Small tights and size Large jacket for a 5’11” tester used to wearing Medium or Large, yet they fit fine. Lastig says they’re redoing the sizing.
