Lars van der Haar will miss the 2016 CrossVegas and Jingle Cross UCI Cyclocross World Cup races after suffering from a lingering hamstring injury.
After 4wks of struggles, I needed to make the hard decision that I won't make it to Vegas & Iowa, due to an inflammation in hamstring tendon

Van der Haar is the second high-ranked Dutchman to miss the American World Cups, as 2015 World Champion Mathieu van der Poel is recovering from double knee surgery and will also miss the World Cup opening week in the U.S.
Without van der Haar, van der Poel and the recently-retired Sven Nys, the two U.S. UCI World Cup stops will be missing at least three of the top five UCI ranked men this September.
With fan favorite van der Haar sidelined, CrossVegas will also be missing two of its last three European winners, but 2016 World Champion Wout van Aert plans to defend his 2015 CrossVegas win.
Let’s hope the two young Dutch cyclocross stars recover in time for the rest of the cyclocross season in Europe.
