As we discussed some yesterday, Paris-Roubaix and cyclocross tech often intersect, especially when we're talking about cyclocross riders taking to the Queen of the classics.

Mario Vanacker was on hand for the 114th running of the Hell of the North yesterday and was able to get a few shots of both Lars van der Haar's and Lars Boom's bikes that they rode in the iconic race.

Boom's bike is a particularly road-going affair, but these images give you an idea of some of the spec changes some riders make for one of the most unique races on the road calendar.

Take a look at these two riders' bikes in the slideshow, below.

For the rear brake, like the front, van der Haar ran an in-line cable release to make sure he could open the caliper enough for the wide tire in the event of a puncture and subsequent wheel change. © Mario Vanacker / Cyclocross Magazine
