After winning yesterday at Devou Park, Lane Maher (Hot Tubes Development) came into Sunday’s Cincinnati Cyclocross race at Harbin Park as a marked man. The course at Harbin was nearly the opposite of Saturday’s circuit in northern Kentucky. The ground showed little affects from the rain and rolled fast, producing more bunched racing than the muddy, technical course at Devou Park.
Maher rose to the occasion to capture his fourth straight UCI win. He entered the last lap with a group of riders and withstood attacks from Alex Morton (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) and Ben Gomez-Villafane (TopClub Cyclocross) during the final circuit to grab the victory.
Morton finished second for the second straight day and Gomez-Villafane took the third podium spot.
