While the US won’t see Nationals for another month and a half, Canada got theirs out of the way early today in Surrey in British Columbia.

In the Elite Women’s race, it was Luna Chix MTBer Catherine Pendrel who took the win, followed by last year’s champion Mical Dyck, with Wendy Simms rounding out the podium.

The U23 men, who race at the same time but set apart from the Elite men, it was Michael van den Haam, Cyclocross Magazine online columnist and U23 Boston (for the season) transplant who took the win, with Marc Antoine Nadon and Connor Wilson rounding out the podium.

In the men’s race, Geoff Kabush (Scott-3 Rox Racing) took the win, repeating last year’s performance, with Aaron Schooler behind in second and Kabush’s teammate Cameron Jette filling out the podium. Mike Garrigan of Van Dessel and a frequent face at US races (he currently lives in New York) took fifth place behind Derek Zandsstra.
