HEUSDEN-ZOLDER, Belgium—On a slippery but not heavy course, pre-race favorite Jens Dekker took advantage of his front-row starting position to get a fast start and ride his own race to a clear victory. After four French riders amassed at the front, Dekker got clear and would never be caught.
Behind, France’s strong team gave chase, led by Mickael Crispin and Thomas Bonnet, but it was a losing battle to bring back the Dutchman.
Gage Hecht overcame a slow start to finish in 12th.
