When Cyclocross Magazine photographers are able to attend a race, we often walk away hundreds of photos, many of which never see the light of day after a select few make the initial race report. Today, for Flashback Friday, with the weekend’s racing at Jingle Cross just hours away, we’re surfacing some of those dust-collecting pixels from last year’s event and offering up a visual preview of the Iowa City racing.

In 2016, due to a calamity of errors, CXM’s Andrew Yee found himself at the venue without his main camera, and shot these on his eight-year-old Cannon Rebel and a ten-year-old 1DS loaner from the very kind Leman Northway, but despite the unfamiliar equipment, still came away with some gems.

Scroll through some of our favorite images below, and see the full gallery from the three days of Jingle Cross in the slider. Stay tuned throughout the weekend for full coverage of the 2017 Jingle Cross racing.
